Obituary for Cecil L. Kindy

Cecil Leroy Kindy passed away on Saturday, November 11, 2017 at the age of 94 years.

Cecil was one of three sons born to Irl William Kindy and Vada Susan Craft Kindy in Topeka, Kansas on June 16, 1923.

In 1943, Cecil joined the US Navy and served 19 years, 11 months and 22 days of service and then he retired. While he was enlisted he fought in WWII. During that time, he earned 5 “Good Conduct Medals” and two ‘Battle Stars”. He served on several ships during his career including the USS Bryce Canyon, USS Tucker and USS Kid amongst others. After his retirement from the United States Navy he settled into civil life in Owasso, OK.

He married his first wife Georgia Lorene Kindy and she passed away in 1994. In 1995 he married his current wife Patricia Dennis Cooper Kindy.

Cecil is survived by his wife Patricia Kindy of Owasso; 1 son, William Kindy of Washington State; 1 daughter, Roxy Kelley of Florida; 1 Brother, Eugene Kindy of Stilwell, Oklahoma; 2 Sisters, Vera Heinbauk of Springdale, Arkansas and Doris Lamont of Claremore, Oklahoma; and 4 Grandsons, Brendon, Patrick, Russell and Rusty.

He was preceded in death by his parents Irl William and Vada Susan Kindy; 1 Brother, Verlin Kindy; 1 Grandson, Ryan and his first wife Georgia Lorene Kindy.
